For this project, I focused on expressive characters, simple symbolism, and gentle compositions to keep the worship themes warm and approachable.
The challenge was making all twelve disciples visually distinct while keeping them believable as part of the same book for readers aged 8+.
I created clean black-and-white interior spot illustrations designed to complement the narrative pacing for independent readers learning about prayer.

Children’s Books About Grief, Loss & Remembrance
Stories about grief need a different kind of visual care. I illustrate books about loss, heaven, remembrance, and difficult goodbyes with age-appropriate expressions, color, composition, and emotional tone—so the artwork supports the story without overwhelming young readers.
For sensitive subjects like illness and loss, I used careful color palettes and comforting character expressions to keep the artwork emotionally supportive without making the scenes feel overwhelming.
A tender sequel exploring connection across loss. I focused on serene celestial composition and gentle lighting to establish emotional continuity.
Told entirely through animal characters, this project required distinct animal expressions and supportive community grouping to convey empathy.
A child doesn't need the illustrations to explain grief. They need the illustrations to give the story room to breathe.

Christmas children’s books can take many forms—from faith-centered stories and nativity books to Santa, giving, family, and holiday adventures. I create custom artwork that matches the tone and heart of your story.
I wrote and illustrated this book from concept through final artwork, giving me firsthand experience of the creative decisions authors face throughout the process. I bring that author-side perspective to the books I illustrate for clients.
Book 4 of the Wynter Skye Adventures series. I designed festive settings and cozy character interactions to emphasize the warmth of belonging.
For the second edition, I refreshed the artwork and updated character details while preserving the emotional core and continuity of the original story.

Yes. If you have experimented with AI to visualize your characters or settings, you can share those as reference material. I use them as visual direction to build original, consistent, hand-drawn final artwork for your book.
Can you illustrate sensitive subjects such as grief, heaven and loss?
Yes. Grief books for children require particular emotional sensitivity — the illustrations need to support the emotional tone of the text without becoming unnecessarily frightening or overwhelming for young readers.
